Licence Fees

Service providers must pay an annual licence fee. This may be no more than 2 per cent of gross revenue from telecommunications services. Ordinarily, the fee is used to fund the activities of the TCSI and is set accordingly. However, for a period that is likely to stretch until 15 October 2015, the annual licence fee is set at 2 per cent and all monies raised will be used as part payment of the Government's debt to Solomon Telekom for relinquishing its exclusive licence to provide telecommunications services in the Solomon Islands.

You may download a copy of the Regulation by which the annual licence fee is set and an explanatory note on how it is to be implemented. Service providers are advised to read the two documents carefully. Please send any queries on the content of the note via our contact page.
